Here we go!

We moved into our home in May of 2012. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths,a den with a fireplace, what used to be a porch, that at some point was converted into another den, and we then turned into a fourth bedroom for the three little's, a dinning room, a living room and a very small laundry room. It has a 2 car garage and is approx. 1300 sq. feet on .6 acre lot.
This is a big change for us, for the last 12 years we lived on an acre and a quarter in a small 2 bedroom trailer. So we got the bigger house we needed but a much smaller chunk of land. I refuse to let this discourage me.
Our home is in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood and is full of culture if anyone is willing to take the time to see it. Until yesterday the house next door to us was empty but it appears that someone has bought it and is slowly moving it. I am hoping and praying that they love kids, chickens, fresh veggies and eggs ( I plan to bribe them into liking us enough not to notify the HOA about our misc. farm type animals I plan to add over time) noise in general really. Our neighbors to the east are very friendly and so far have not even flinched when they saw me with 2 baby goats born on our other property that need extra care. Those goats have since been sold and aside from a seasonal pig everything we farm will be farmed right here.
For the first almost year we did little outdoors and concentrated on the interior of our home. Painting the cabinets and every interior wall, arranging and rearranging rooms until we found a combination that worked. We still have a lot to do indoors but now that our first spring is here we are headed outdoors to start planning the gardens, chicken runs, fruit trees and so forth.
This is somewhere close to where I would like to be eventually, a few milking goats, some chickens, a turkey or two, lush gardens full of food.............I guess we will see if I get there or not.
